Holiday Extras is holding a fantasy football fundraiser in support of a children’s foundation launched after a staff member lost his daughter to cancer.

The Evie Dove Foundation was created by Holiday Extras’ managing director of airparks and insurance Howard Dove (pictured right) and his wife Katie (centre) in memory of their daughter.

Evie was diagnosed with a brain tumour in April 2021 and sadly died 11 months later, aged 13.

The ancillaries specialist hopes to raise £5,000 to support the foundation with a fantasy football league, as well as encourage staff to have fun, which it said is what “Evie would have wanted”.

Additionally, staff are organising future fundraisers, including a golf day and summer and Christmas balls, as well as creating Evie Dove polo shirts.

Matt Paxton (pictured second from left), Holiday Extras director and foundation trustee, said: “Evie was the bravest, kindest, most caring soul and lived her life to the full despite the circumstances she found herself in.

“She was an inspiration to all of us and the Evie Dove Foundation is dedicated to doing everything it can to help other families who find themselves in similar situations.

“Our fantasy football fundraiser is the first of many fundraising missions that we’re organising for the foundation.

“We’re hoping to sign up 500 players, each pledging a small donation, but to encourage a bit of healthy competition, we have lots of categories players can win a prize under.

“The whole idea is to raise as much as we can, but in true Evie style, we couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to have fun whilst doing so.”
