The $150,000 fundraising goal will support the organization’s operational costs, and aid in the transition to a financially sustainable future.

Non-profit and meditation center InsightLA has announced the launch of an emergency fund in order to keep the organization’s doors open. The fundraising campaign, spearheaded by volunteer teacher and board advisor, Maria Egan, has a goal of raising $150,000 USD by September 30th.

In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, donations and revenues slowed at InsightLA, Egan explained in a letter to supporters. “Combined with the organization trying to expand retreat offerings to meet demand, InsightLA is now facing bankruptcy. Without the funds we’re attempting to raise in the next four weeks, the organization will have to shut down.”

The donation page details that the $150,000 goal will help support the operational costs of the organization for the next 6 months, and support the organization’s leadership as they transition into a sustainable financial plan for the future.

InsightLA is a non-profit meditation center based in Los Angeles, California. Founded twenty years ago by Trudy Goodman, InsightLA offers classes, retreats, training, and events taught by a variety of teachers and facilitators. InsightLA also offers a “No One Turned Away” financial support program, making their programs available to all, regardless of their socioeconomic status.
