Malta to host Advantage conference in May 2025
Three-day event to be held with Maltese tourist board
The Advantage Travel Partnership will return to Malta next year to host its annual industry conference, in partnership with Visit Malta.
The consortium said it chose Malta because of the destination’s “wide appeal and prominence”, with its “high density of world heritage sites [and] continued investment in sustainability and development strategies”.
Further details about content and accommodation for the three-night event (May 13-16) will be announced over the coming months.
Julia Lo Bue-Said, chief executive at the Advantage Travel Partnership, said: “We last visited Malta in 2012 and are thrilled to be returning to a destination that has continued to see a great deal of investment and advancement in the last 10 years, especially in reinventing itself to promote diversity, equality and inclusion.
“Malta offers us a destination that is able to offer everything and more for our conference including easy, flexible and affordable connectivity from the UK, high quality accommodation, great conference facilities as well as lots to do and see including the highest density of Unesco world heritage sites that exist in a nation state.”

She added: “When we asked delegates who attended our 2024 conference in Cancun how to describe their experience of the event, the three key words they used were Positive, Motivated and Excited, which is exactly what we wanted to achieve.
“We plan to be even more ambitious in 2025 not only with the business content, which our members will help shape over the coming months, but how we can further use philanthropic activities to deliver a positive impact to Malta and the people of Malta.
“We believe that the power of travel lies in its ability to create positive change, fostering cultural understanding, promoting peace and inspiring communities worldwide, and this again will sit at the heart of our conference plans.
“In Malta there will be once again a strong bias on sustainability and ‘giving back’ and the ever-popular immersive experiences will feature highly, giving delegates every opportunity to get to know the destination first-hand and what it offers the leisure and business traveller.”
Tolene van der Merwe, UK and Ireland director at Visit Malta, added: “We look forward to an insightful conference schedule looking at the current developments and issues our industry is facing.
“With flights available from 14 regional airports in the UK, we hope this makes Malta an attractive destination to visit for the conference.”
