The 10th edition of the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list has just been released, spotlighting young entrepreneurs and disruptors in Asia.
There are 10 categories this year, including the latest artificial intelligence addition:
AI Consumer & Enterprise Technology Entertainment & Sports Finance & Venture Capital Healthcare & Science Industry, Manufacturing & Energy Retail & Ecommerce The Arts (Art & Style, Food & Drink) Social Media, Marketing & Advertising Healthcare & ScienceThere are 30 entries (who are all under 30 years old, of course) celebrated in each category, meaning there is a final count of 300 names (or groups) who made the cut.
Last year, four Malaysians had made the list. As for this year, it took a while to locate any Malaysians on the list, but we found two of them in the Social Media, Marketing & Advertising category. Here’s who they are.
Eswaran Mohan, Renuga Nair | Exar Technologies
Eswaran Mohan and Renuga Nair are the co-founders of homegrown startup Exar Technologies, which was established during their final year at university in 2018. Both of them are 29 years old this year.
Based in Selangor, Exar Technologies develops augmented reality (AR) and other digital assets to help companies increase brand awareness. Specifically, Exar helps their clients interact with their customers using AI, AR, and virtual reality technologies.
The company’s clientele comprises over 50 multinationals including Nestlé, Fujitsu, Honda and FoodPanda.
Exar was also among the first 30 creators globally, and the first in Asia, chosen by Snapchat to become an official lens creator for the app.
Lim Siow Wei | Content Creator
You might recognise this awardee by the content she’s posted across the internet. After all, she’s accumulated over 26 million subscribers across various social media platforms, having collaborated with brands such as AirAsia and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
Lim Siow Wei is a 29-year-old Malaysian content creator known for her humorous videos, where she plays over 10 unique characters that she has created.
Known as Siowei through her online channels, she started her social media journey during the Covid-19 pandemic, recording content with an iPhone and posting it on TikTok.

Although Malaysia only saw two entries on the list this year, we’re proud of the mark that these two entries have made in the social media, marketing, and advertising realm.
Congratulations to Exar Technologies as well as Lim Siow Wei on making it onto the list, and we hope this inspires more Malaysians who are pursuing their careers in this field, and beyond.
