Navan has launched a card link technology that enables its expense management features on enrolled Mastercard and Visa corporate cards, the company announced.
The Navan Connect technology lets users of Navan Expense—the recently rebranded TripActions—add tools such as smart policy controls and auto-itemization to their current corporate cards. Expenses can be checked against policy, categorized and reconciled as soon as an enrolled corporate card is swiped, according to Navan.
"It's a big step forward for finance leaders, who want to keep their employees happy with a modern solution but without the disruption caused by changing corporate card providers," according to Navan Expense EVP and general manager Michael Sindicich.
The capability means companies can issue cards to a wider set of employees since they allow extra controls, according to Navan. Companies can monitor expenses and look for savings opportunities in a dashboard that shows pending and cleared transactions.
"As a financial services leader working to remove barriers and connect more people to the
global economy, Visa has long understood the value of the Navan Expense experience—which offers the kind of proactive controls that enables companies to give every employee a card," Visa SVP and North America head of business solutions Veronica Fernandez said in a statement. "Navan Connect helps address the challenges and limitations that historically prevented modern expense solutions to be made available outside of Silicon Valley."
Companies also are able to maintain their banking relationships and any loyalty rewards or rebates associated with the corporate cards, according to Navan.
