NCL forced to delay Norwegian Viva’s launch again
Lines blames ‘global supply chain constraints’

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has been forced to delay the launch of Norwegian Viva again and cancel its first sailings until August 2023.
The line blamed “global supply chain constraints” for the second delay of the second Prima-class ship’s launch.
In June, NCL pushed back the launch of Viva for the first time and cancelled the first two sailings, citing “global supply chain issues”.
On Friday (November 25), a NCL spokesperson said: “Given the global supply chain constraints impacting industries worldwide, including the maritime industry, Norwegian Viva’s delivery has been delayed and we must cancel her sailings from July 3, 2023, through and including August 17, 2023.
“We appreciate the understanding of our guests and travel partners.”
Norwegian Getaway has been repositioned to take over Viva’s cancelled cruises. Guests can either rebook on Getaway with a 20% discount of the fare paid or receive a full refund.
Passengers who choose either option will also receive a 10% discount valid for any future cruises between August 23, 2022 and December 31, 2024.
