Prima hosts 200 Not Just Travel agents for first seminar at sea
New NCL ship venue for ‘Cruise Mastery’ initiative
More than 200 Not Just Travel agents have joined the company’s first seminar at sea on Norwegian Cruise Line’s new ship Prima.
Set to be an annual event, the initiative is part of the group’s ‘Cruise Mastery’ programme which was unveiled in June at its summer conference.
A training programme with 15 different workshops over six days hosted by seven presenters was held on the ship, which departed from Copenhagen on September 13.
Presentations were made by top cruise sales experts, travel industry professionals and a BBC and ITV presenter who hosted a special skills workshop on selfie videos.
Each consultant learned the tools, tactics and strategies to become experts in selling cruise.
Participants visited Copenhagen, Oslo, Kristiansand, Bergen, Geiranger, Alesund and Amsterdam on the ship’s third sailing.
Not Just Travel co-founder Paul Harrison said: “Cruise is the fastest and most dynamic growth sector in the travel industry, offering agents some of the highest average sales and biggest commissions, as well as huge potential for agents in terms of repeat bookings.
“We are absolutely committed to giving our agents a bigger slice of this profitable market and to help accelerate learning and sales. Leading experts in the cruise industry have helped us develop top-quality training.”
He added: “More knowledge equals more confidence, which equals more sales.
“Cruise Mastery is like an A-level in cruise. It won’t be easy to complete the course, and it requires 100% commitment. But in just 12 months, agents who know nothing about the sector can become a Master of Cruise and reap the benefits if they put in the time and effort. We’re excited to see hundreds of consultants signing up for the commitment.”
NCL business development executive Laura Croft said: “As one of Not Just Travel’s key trade partners, it’s a win-win for us to host so many agents on our brand-new ship.
“They will disembark with incredible knowledge and exciting stories to share with their customers and we look forward to selling even more cruises through Not Just Travel.”
