Red Funnel recognised for health and safety performance
Isle of Wight ferry operator awarded order of distinction
Red Funnel has been awarded an order of distinction by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
The Isle of Wight ferry operator received the accolade after winning 21 consecutive gold awards for health and safety performance.
Jon Stage, head of safety and compliance, accepted the award at a ceremony held at the ExCel convention centre in London.
He said: “Thanks to the collective focus on safety across our whole team, we continue to ensure that it remains a key part of our business driving everything we do.
“I am honoured to receive this award on behalf of the team and continue to be extremely proud of their relentless commitment to safety across our service.”
Fran Collins, chief executive, said: “Safety is at the heart of Red Funnel. As a lifeline service we train our staff to operate with a safety-first culture and receiving this award 21 years in a row is a testament to our dedication to ensuring a safe and reliable ferry experience for both our passengers and crew.”
