The best robot vacuum deals

For a great robot vacuum that can mop and doesn't require a huge auto-empty dock, get the Roborock S8. With dual rubber roller brushes, 6,000 Pa suction, and a flat mop that vibrates 3,000 times a second to simulate some good old-fashioned scrubbing, the S8 is a mean cleaning machine. It can sense carpets, lift up its mop, and has Roborock’s best AI-powered obstacle avoidance. There’s still no camera, though. It works as a standalone vacuum or pairs with an auto-empty dock, but you must manually fill its (sizable) water tank.

The Roborock S7, the S8’s predecessor, is also on sale at Walmart for $359.99. This was our former pick for the best robot vacuum/mop combo before the S8 took its place. The impressive robovac lacks some newer bells and whistles, including AI-obstacle avoidance, but it keeps carpets dry thanks to the mop’s unique lifting mechanism. Read our guide to the best robot vacuums.

A true budget bot with no bells and whistles, just a determination to get the job done. With a two-hour runtime, decent-sized bin, and tank-like wheels that can get over most large obstacles, the Shark is a good workhorse for a low price. It's loud and will get tangled on cables, but the app is easy to use, and it works with Amazon Alexa and Google Home for voice and smart home control.

A head-on angle of the Shark AV2501AE AI Robot Vacuum docked in its self-cleaning station against a wall, plugged into a nearby outlet.A head-on angle of the Shark AV2501AE AI Robot Vacuum docked in its self-cleaning station against a wall, plugged into a nearby outlet.

The Shark AI is a cheaper auto-emptying option. It’s a loud bot that’s long on features (including mapping) and short on style but comes at a bargain. It doesn’t use bags and can only avoid objects if they’re over four inches tall. There’s a mopping version, the Shark AI Ultra 2-in-1, or you can buy it as a standalone bot.

Amazon is discounting the Shark AI Ultra 2-in-1 to $249.99 ($200 off), which is the lowest price we’ve seen on the budget-friendly robot vacuum/mop hybrid. It’s a little loud and lacks an auto-empty base, however, it makes up for the caveats with good suction, a great app, and a laundry list of features (including mapping).

Roborock’s Q Revo robot vacuum sitting on a hardwood floor with its charging dock.Roborock’s Q Revo robot vacuum sitting on a hardwood floor with its charging dock.

This is the first sub-$1,000 bot that can do everything, just not quite as well as the top-of-the-line options. It vacuums, mops, self-empties, fills its mop reservoir, and cleans and dries its oscillating mops. It can map, has virtual keep-out zones, and works with voice assistants. But there’s no AI-powered obstacle avoidance, and its single roller brush isn’t as effective as the double ones on the j7 and S8.
