This five-star hotel near Hyde Park is the tallest building in Mayfair, looking out over landmarks including Buckingham Palace and The Shard

Location

Located less than a 10-minute walk from both Hyde Park Corner and Green Park Tube stations (albeit in different directions), London Hilton on Park Lane is right in the middle of Mayfair.

The hotel is a five-minute walk from Hyde Park, and upmarket shopping destination Bond Street is a 10-minute stroll. Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street and Buckingham Palace are all within a mile of the hotel. Between Green Park and Hyde Park, this skyscraper stay blends a central city location with nearby greenery and open space. You can even spot Hyde Park’s famous green parakeets from the windows.

This is a bustling hotel with a vibrant atmosphere. Guests include business people, families and those enjoying after-work drinks or dinner. Because of its expansive lobby area, even at busy times the hotel doesn’t feel packed. The style combines classic with contemporary, from its sleek modern interiors, which feature statement lighting, rugs and artwork, to more timeless details such as marble floors and large mirrors.

Service

The team are welcoming and pay attention to detail, from the reception staff to those working in the bar and dining areas. Arriving at the hotel during a heatwave, when reception staff were busy checking in guests, those waiting were seamlessly ushered to another area (so they didn’t need to hang around too long).

In the Revery Bar, team members are happy to talk through the drinks menu, taking the time to ask which flavours guests usually opt for. Similarly, at Park Corner Brasserie, staff are helpful with catering to dietary requirements.

Bed and bath

There are 453 rooms, including 56 suites. They start at the queen or twin guest room sizes and move up to two-room options, with family and interconnecting rooms available too.

Rooms either look out onto Mayfair or Hyde Park. With there being 28 floors, the higher up you are, the further out you can see – this is a major highlight, and having a view over the rooftops below sets this stay apart from other city hotels. Being on a top floor room could be a bit dizzying for those who don’t like heights, but at the same time that’s testament to how dramatic this element is.

The decor is chic and stylish while being airy and unfussy, and this adds to the open feel given by the expansive views. Furnishings are plush; pale blue statement pieces are combined with gold trims, marble sinks, modern artwork and geometric-patterned carpets.

All rooms have walk-in showers, while executive rooms and suites have freestanding baths as well. For the executive rooms and above, there are full-size Molton Brown toiletries in the bathrooms, while the other guest rooms have products from Crabtree & Evelyn.

Food and drink

The bar and restaurant options are Park Corner Brasserie, Revery Bar, Mr Porter and Shanghai Me. Additionally, The EL&N Deli & Bakery offers a patisserie and drinks menu with the option to sit in or order a takeaway.

Park Corner Brasserie is the hotel’s light-filled main eatery for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Expect seasonal fare and hearty classics including scallops, pork belly and fish and chips. Also on the menu are showstoppers such as the goat’s cheese mousse starter, which is presented in a honeycomb shape. Its delicious flavours include pear cinnamon puree, salted caramel and black truffle honey.

Breakfast is a combination of buffet-style picks covering a plentiful spread of fresh fruit, pastries, and more; plus hot options including omelettes, pancakes and a full English.

Shanghai Me has a dramatic ambience and presents dishes that blend Chinese and Japanese flavours and culinary techniques. It’s open for dinner during the week while at the weekend you can book a table from midday onwards. Alternatively, Mr Porter is a steakhouse where you can enjoy cocktails in a stylish lounge.

Revery Bar is the hotel’s chic ground-floor destination for mixed drinks, and you can also get breakfast and bar meals here. Its decor exudes opulence, with marble detailing, deep red furnishings and gold detailing throughout. The menu is separated into chapters that list its unique drinks (with varying strengths and flavours available), adding to the playful experience.

Facilities

The hotel has a small but well-equipped 24-hour fitness centre, plus a sauna and steam room. Guests staying in a suite get access to the Executive Lounge, which is a private first-floor area offering food and drinks throughout the day.

Accessibility

There are five accessible bedrooms and step-free access in most of the public areas. Induction loops are available at the main reception desk and at the gym reception. All bedrooms have a speaker, as well as a vibrating and visual alarm system built in. A dedicated guest disability assistance team is available for all queries and feedback.

Pet policy

Pets are allowed with a £50 fee per stay. One animal is allowed per room, with a 24lb maximum weight limit.

Children are welcome and both family and interconnecting rooms are available. Kids aged 12 and under get free breakfast, and there’s a children’s menu at Park Corner Brasserie, as well as the Disney Princess afternoon tea. Cots are also available on request.
