Mack Zuckerburg announces a conversation protected feature to ensure a private chat. Update WhatsApp now and get this latest Chat Lock feature. Thus, without any third-party interference, you can have intimate conversations.
As per Meta report, the Chat Lock feature secures your chat in a separate folder with a password. Hence, when someone messages you, that person’s name and chat will be hidden.
Moreover, this great news is for Android and iOS users. To avail of this feature, first update WhatsApp. Next, click on the WhatsApp logo on their home screen. Now, by pressing any Group or Individual, a user can add a privacy feature to the chat.
Interestingly, one can only open the locked chat with a password or biometric verification. Thus, this dual protection is a great thing for those living in a joint family or with a bunch of friends.
Also, if a person is familiar with Apple’s hidden photos feature, he can surely get a grasp of it.
WhatsApp and Meta claim that after a while they will introduce more features to the ‘Chat Lock‘ option. For instance, one can expect a customized password for every chat.
Although with WhatsApp you can get an end-to-end encrypted system, it’s useless when someone has your unlocked phone. That’s why this password and biometric secure Chat Lock system will keep anyone at arm’s length from your private conversation. This extra layer of protection will function the same way, whether your phone is locked or unlocked.
Meta addresses this upgrade as, “Over the next few months we’re going to be adding more options for Chat Lock, including locking for companion devices, creating a custom password for your chats so that you can use a unique password different from your phone’s.”
