Wearing of masks to be optional outdoors as S’pore lifts some Covid restrictions from March 29

Wearing masks outdoors will be optional from next Tuesday (Mar 29), Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced during his National Address on Thursday (Mar 24).
Group size restrictions for social gatherings will be eased, doubling from five to 10 individuals. That’s as Singapore makes a decisive move towards living with Covid-19.
The change comes as transmission risks have eased, although the wearing of masks indoors will still be required, the country’s leader said in his televised address to the nation.
Safe distancing of one metre between groups will still be required in settings where masks are not worn to minimise the risk of transmission.
Other measures include allowing up to 75 per cent of employees who can work from home to return to their offices and the increase of capacity limits and settings to 75 per cent.
