What Did You Do This Weekend?

“Would you ever consider a Monday update?” a reader named Molly commented a while back. “It could complement to the ‘Have a Great Weekend’ posts. I’m always curious how the party went, which dress you chose, how the play/movie was, etc. Would be a fun way to jump into the week.” I’ve done a few weekend recaps since then, and here’s another — and please share your own recaps in the comments!

Saturday brought pouring rain, so I hosted a bagel brunch at my house for some friends and neighbors. Would you believe a PRINCESS actually showed up?

One of my favorite mug features Anton’s seventh grade school photo. That smile! I also have a fun one of Toby playing basketball.

These dogs outside a café recently made me smile — dogs always look like they have NO IDEA if their person will come back. Highest stakes!

I’m also reading the absolute page-turner Mother Mary Comes to Me by Arundhati Roy.

And who else has been watching Jamie Ding’s winning streak on Jeopardy? He’s been smashing all sorts of records, and tonight, if it works out, will be his 32nd straight win. Before he answers a question, his eyes will often blink a few times, almost as if he’s flipping through academic files in his mind. SO cool. Bonus: He’s from Michigan!
