Youtravel apologises as it cancels bookings from November 1
Accommodation provider awaits further information on future
Youtravel has cancelled all bookings with dates from November 1 as the accommodation provider awaits further information on its future after the collapse of its parent company.
It is the latest wave of cancellations flowing from the failure of Germany-based FTI Touristik GmbH in June.
The previous round of Youtravel cancellations had seen the scrapping of the summer season, with all bookings cancelled up to and including October 31.
In an update issued on October 25, a spokesperson for the trade-only bed bank said: “Following legal counsel and as we continue to navigate the challenges resulting from the collapse of FTI Touristik GmbH in June 2024, we regret to inform you that all future bookings with travel dates from November 1, 2024, onwards will be cancelled.
“At this time, no final decision can be announced regarding the future of youtravel.com. We will provide further updates in the coming weeks as more information becomes available.
“We sincerely appreciate your continued support and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your understanding.”
Youtravel’s first round of cancellations went up to June 14, with the following rounds going up to July 5, July 26 and the end of October.
