NYU Tisch School of the Arts’ Fusion Film Festival has booked “Zola,” “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair,” and both films’ writer-directors for its 20th edition, which is being held fully in person. The student film fest celebrating women and non-binary creators kicked off yesterday and runs through tomorrow, April 9.

On April 7, Fusion hosted Mitu Khandaker and Latoya Peterson, the creators of “Insecure: The Come Up Game,” for a discussion about making space for Black and Brown voices in gaming.

Tonight, at 6 p.m., the fest will screen an exclusive preview of “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair,” a horror pic that sees a teenage girl becoming more and more wrapped up in a role-playing game. Writer-director Jane Schoenbrun will attend the screening. “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair” hits theaters April 15 and VOD April 22.

Tomorrow, April 9, “Zola,” the Independent Spirit Award-winning dark comedy based on a viral Twitter thread, will screen at 2 p.m. Co-writer and director Janicza Bravo, Fusion’s Woman of the Year, will deliver a Masterclass following the film, at 3:30 p.m.

The 20th Fusion Film Fest will wrap up tomorrow with screenings of Competition titles from the next generation of storytellers, beginning at 6 p.m.. An awards ceremony will follow.

All Fusion events are free with an NYU ID and Daily Pass. Seating is on a first come basis. Find more information on Twitter.
