What snacks do you like making for a group? My repertoire includes chips and onion dip (a staple of my Midwest childhood) and green Castelvetrano olives. But King Arthur — of flour fame — recently sent us four bread mix kits, and here’s what we thought…
Have you tried King Arthur’s bread mix kits? Each comes with pre-measured ingredients and easy instructions, so even terrible cooks (like us) can experience “the joy of bread making.” The best part? Every kit lets you have fresh, warm loaves — like including their pretzel bites, focaccia and pull-apart garlic bread — on your table in less than an hour.
The soft chewy pretzel bites are especially easy to make. Here are the simple steps: Mix all the kit ingredients with oil and water in a large bowl, then knead the dough by hand for three minutes. Afterward, let it rise for 15 minutes, then divide the dough into balls and toss them into the glaze mixture. Finally, sprinkle each dough ball with salt and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. (Here’s the full recipe, if you’d like to see.)
Don’t they look delicious? They taste great with dijon mustard, of course; or, if you have a sweet tooth, add cream cheese, sugar and cinnamon. I want to set them out at an evening drinks party, and the boys already asked to make them for a neighbors’ movie night this month.
As a certified B Corp, King Arthur Baking is determined to lead in regenerative agriculture by having 100% of their flour milled from regeneratively grown wheat by 2030. They’re also working toward using 100% renewable power at all facilities, which will reduce supply chain greenhouse gas emissions by 30%, and are developing packaging that will have 100% deforestation-free fibers and a minimum of 50% post-consumer recycled content.
Which one of King Arthur Baking bread mix kits would you want to make? They have their soft pretzel bites, pull-apart garlic bread (great for big pasta dinners), airy focaccia and herby flatbread. You can find them all here.
Thank you so much, King Arthur!
