It’s Cozy Season! These Are the Under-$100 Items Our Editors Are Eying For Fall
Add to cart.
Like clockwork, it’s the end of August and I am so ready for fall. There’s just something about the cozy season that comforts me more than any other time of the year. Whether it’s the cooler weather or the upcoming holidays, it’s never too hard for me to trade in swimsuits for sweaters, iced coffees for pumpkin spiced lattes, and beach towels for the softest, coziest blankets.
With that being said, I’m usually on the early side when it comes to stocking up on cozy home décor and all things fall. The temperature has yet to even drop, but I’ve already made this year’s inaugural batch of pumpkin muffins and lit my first vanilla-scented candle.

23 Editor-Approved Cozy Home Décor Picks
Brooklyn Candle Studio Santal Noir Candle
Go put a record on, then light this woodsy candle and let it burn for the cozy night of your dreams. Its earthy scent is an enchanting blend of cedar, pine, and sandalwood, and the chic matte black container fits right into my fall coffee table vibe. — Camille, Editor-in-Chief
Spicy Chai Concentrate
For a chai-obsessive like myself, fall means trying out a new version of the classic cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and black pepper mix. This small-batch concentrate has a pleasant kick. Just mix one part chai to one part milk-of-choice, heat, and drink up. — Camille, Editor-in-Chief
Rustic Stoneware Mugs
These extremely well-priced neutral mugs have cozy log cabin vibes, and are perfect for sipping hot bevs by a fire (or your favorite candle) all season long. — Camille, Editor-in-Chief
Maude Bath Salts
Is anything cozier than sinking into a really hot bath infused with nourishing, mineral-rich salts? I think not. These clean salts, made with hand-harvested crystals from the dead sea, are infused with amber, cedar leaf, clove, lemongrass, and Medjool dates. Almost as delicious as a slice of pumpkin bread. — Camille, Editor-in-Chief
Jute Basket
This is one of those Amazon scores that feels too good to be true, since it feels incredibly luxe without the price tag. Tuck this oversized basket into the corner of your living or bedroom and fill it with your cozy home décor and throws for instant hygge vibes. — Camille, Editor-in-Chief
Snif Ditch Plains Candle
Sure, this candle is reminiscent of sun-soaked summer days in Ditch Plains beach in Montauk. But every time I light this limited-edition scent, with its warm hues and notes of amber, cedarwood, and tobacco, I’m reminded that cozy, pumpkin-spiced fall days are ahead. — Anne, Contributing Editor
Casaluna Oversized Solid Bed Throw
I added this chunky throw to my bed and it has been the source of never-ending compliments. Not only does it add a chic texture to my otherwise all-white bedding, but it’s so warm to cozy up in. As someone who likes to feel bundled up at night but hates to sweat, I don’t think I’ll ever buy a different blanket. — Bridget, Contributing Editor
Cushionaire Women’s Pull on Boots
According to many of the fashion bloggers I follow, Ugg boots will be huge this fall/winter. I may or may not have thrown mine out, so these dupes are my saving grace. I love the mini size because they still keep my feet nice and toasty, but they don’t take up an obnoxious amount of space in my closet or when I’m traveling. — Bridget, Contributing Editor
Forever21 Striped Half-Zip Sweater
I have been obsessed with the oversized, striped sweater look for months and was so excited to find this affordable version on Forever21. I ordered it in a size large so it would have that baggy look, and I could not be more in love with the way it fits. Plus, it’s super comfy and not at all scratchy, which says a lot considering I’m very picky about how clothes feel. — Bridget, Contributing Editor
Teva ReEmber Fleece Slip-Ons
Soooo… not to brag y’all, but I actually scored my pair of these from a second-hand gear shop in Bend, Oregon for $5. While I love a good deal (and sustainable shopping), there are countless more reasons why I’m in love with my pair.
Come cozy season, I oscillate between two outfits: flowy dresses with tights and an oversized sweater or my favorite pair of sweats plus a fleece. The single consistency between these two outfit choices (besides the obvious comfort factor)? My Teva slip-ons. They feel like legit sleeping bags on my feet, and in this trending era of ugly footwear, they’re just about my favorite thing to slide on in the morning. — Isabelle, Managing Editor
West Elm Cozy Faux Shearling Throw
No fall season is complete without your favorite throw. Because I’m an introvert at heart, there’s nothing I love more than cozying up on the couch with a good book or my knitting—this throw, of course, included. It’s super plush and just about the softest thing my skin has ever felt. Plus, it looks super chic as cozy home décor draped over a chair or folded on the bed. — Isabelle, Managing Editor
Patagonia Women’s P-6 Label Uprisal Sweatpants
I picked these up in the middle of the summer, and while they’ve definitely made their appearance as a much-needed layer after a long hike, I’ll be sure to carry them into the cooler months. Patagonia is known for their quality and sustainable sourcing/manufacturing processes, and these efforts certainly show in their final products. These are a key part of my doing-anything-from-home wardrobe, but I have no second thoughts about wearing them out of the house for a quick errand or grocery store run. — Isabelle, Managing Editor
Summer Fridays Soft Vanilla Candle
We love Summer Fridays for their super-effective, beautifully-packed skincare products, but their merch and lifestyle gear isn’t to be overlooked! As someone who revels in the beauty of a comforting scent, their vanilla candle is exactly what I’m looking for. Of course, many vanilla candles can product an off-putting, artificial scent, but this one pairs notes of vanilla cream with almond blossom for a mood-lifting, cozy appeal that’s far from overpowering. — Isabelle, Managing Editor
Women’s Merrell Hydro Moc
OK, so hear me out: Crocs had their first go-around when I was in elementary school, and because I was more concerned with playground drama than keeping up with the trends of the time, I stayed cozy with my nondescript sneaks instead.
BUT, while much has changed in the years since, 2022 is the year of the Croc, and our collective penchant for coziness means the resurgence isn’t dying down. And sure, these might not be the brand everyone has on their feet, but I’m here for any and every Outdoor Voices x Merrell collab. This sportier take on the easy on-and-off shoe will definitely continue in my rotation through fall. (P.S. You can bet I’ll be accessorizing with these.) — Isabelle, Managing Editor
Project 62™ Textured Faux Fur Reversible Throw Blanket
Listen, this is not an investment piece. It will last you a year, maybe, until it loses its softness. Still, I cannot stop buying this throw on repeat. Target releases some version of a faux fur throw every year and it’s a staple in my cozy home décor. Truthfully, the first time I purchased this blanket was for my hospital bag and it was the talk of the maternity ward. It instantly elevated the sad hospital bed into something that felt more like home, so I guess you could say it’s my literal security blanket. — Brittany, Content Marketing Director
When Harry Met Sally Soundtrack on Vinyl
The coziest days speak to all the senses and in terms of sounds, nothing can touch Harry Connick Jr. transporting me directly to New York City in the fall. Do I have a record player? Not yet. But until I do, this record will add to the cozy home décor vibes while Spotify does the heavy lifting. — Brittany, Content Marketing Director
Gildan Matching Sweatset
There is an art to sweatsuit season and I’m happy to say that I’ve perfected it with the ultimate hack. You know all the hip sweatsuits that definitely cost more than $100? There’s a way around it—and it only costs about $30. This Gildan set is classic. It’s what all the brands model their fits after and it’s often the actual set that some of those brands print their graphics on before they hike up the price. Yes, they are men’s pants—just size down. Keep the sweatshirt oversized. An Ash Grey set paired with some Air Force 1s is my go-to! — Brittany, Content Marketing Director
New Mexico Wood Scents Incense in Piñon
I love earthy and woodsy smells for the fall (and honestly any time) but am not personally into candles. However, I do love my house to smell amazing when a guest arrives. My favorite way to welcome friends to New Mexico is with classic piñon incense! It offers the smell of piñon wood burning in a kiva on a cold day right inside and brings me so much joy, all while delivering major nostalgia for some of my favorite New Mexican winters. — Lauren, Contributing Editor
Mate the Label Tencel Sleep Pants & Shirt
I’m one of those people who get hot in their sleep but need to be in long PJs and cozy. I love how soft the Tencel sleep collection by Mate the Label is. Bonus points because it gets softer with every wash, comes in a wide range of sizes, and is sustainable. — Brandy, Contributing Editor
Faherty Legend Sweater Hoodie
My husband is a die-hard Faherty fan, and I can’t believe I waited so long to try their clothes. The quality, softness, and fit are unmatched. I will be living in this hoodie/sweater all fall (it also layers nicely under my winter down jacket). It’s cozy, chic, and buttery soft. — Edie, Contributing Editor
AYR The Supercool Tee in White
Given that about 75 percent of my closet is dedicated to AYR’s streamlined pieces, it’s a given that this white tee is a must for fall. The cotton is high quality and super soft. But the reason this white number stands apart from all the zillions of others is the cut and fit. Slightly slouchy with a precise bias high on the arm, it falls in the most flattering way. I’ll be wearing this from Zooms to drinks and under blazers and hoodies, all autumn long. — Stacey, Contributing Editor
Freda Salvador Ulla Crew Socks in Periwinkle
The cutest socks to pair with oxfords and sneakers, these little numbers are like a springtime reminder during the darker fall days. Plus, they happen to come from the ultimate shoe collection (in my book), so I’m sold. — Stacey, Contributing Editor
