Merlin Travel Group to run five fam trips to mark fifth anniversary
Five for Five initiative aims to reward company’s homeworkers
Merlin Travel Group is to offer its agents the chance to go on five fam trips as it celebrates the business’s fifth anniversary.
The “Five for Five” initiative is planned as a thank you and reward to its members after five years of trading.
The consortium of 62 mainly homeworking agents hopes to run three long-haul fams, one short-haul and one cruise, in 2025, with help from supplier partners.

It follows a decision to give agents a 2.5% commission uplift during the month of August for members to thank them for their support during the last five years.
The fam trips are likely to run in 2025, said managing director Garry Butcher. “We are still working out the destinations for the fam trips. We will have one in Barbados for around 12 agents and India is a definite. We are also working on one in either Kenya or South Africa.
“I think the cruise fam trip will be the biggest, we’re looking at around 20 cabins for that one.”
The group also held a fifth anniversary party for staff at its head office this summer to celebrate its achievements.
