Meta Announces 2025 Connect and LlamaCon Conferences
Meta will showcase its AR, VR, and AI advances across two conferences this year.

Meta has announced the date of its 2025 Connect conference, where it will showcase all of its latest developments in AR, VR, wearables, and more.
And this year, it will also be holding its first-ever AI conference as well, with “LlamaCon” to be held in April this year.
As explained by Meta:
“Following the unprecedented growth and momentum of our open source Llama collection of models and tools, we’re excited to introduce LlamaCon - a developer conference for 2025 that will take place April 29.”
Meta has been hard at work developing its Llama AI models, which are industry-leading in many respects. And with Meta also working to drastically expand its processing capacity, and facilitate greater connectivity in its apps to power the next generation of AI projects, its Llama models may well end up being the industry leader before the year is out.
Meta says that it’ll share the latest on its open source AI developments at LlamaCon, with specialized events and meet-ups designed to guide developers in tapping into its AI models.
The event will provide a valuable opportunity to learn more about Meta’s Llama models, while it’ll also present Meta with an opportunity to share its latest developments and advances, pointing to the next stage of its AI projects.
Meta’s Connect conference, meanwhile, will focus on VR advances, and Meta’s advancing wearables push, which is likely to get a big boost in 2025.
Meta’s Ray Ban glasses have been a commercial hit, and it’s now looking to launch new models, and upgraded capacity, ahead of its next step into AR wearables.
Connect will serve as the showcase for these next-level developments, and it’ll be interesting to see how far along Meta’s VR and AR tools have come by that stage later in the year.
“As in years past, we’ll share the latest and greatest in Meta Horizon updates, peel back the curtain on tomorrow’s tech, and give XR devs the tools they need to help build for the next computing platform today.”
So, still a while away on both fronts, but this is when we’re likely to get the next big updates on Meta’s evolving projects.
