Serko Taps Booking.com's Gerrie for COO Role

Booking.com executive Matthew Gerrie will join online booking technology provider Serko on March 17 as its chief operating officer, Serko announced on Thursday. Meanwhile, chief product officer Joydip Das will depart the company in April, Serko said.

As COO, Gerrie will be charged with scaling Serko's global operations and  driving growth and performance optimization across international markets, according to Serko. He joins Serko after more than 11 years at Booking.com, most recently as director of strategy and analytics for global strategy and business development at its parent company, Booking Holdings. Serko is a partner to Booking.com, providing technology for its Booking.com for Business platform.

"Matthew’s extensive experience at Booking.com and his expertise in strategy, data-driven insights and global operating models make him the ideal leader to help us scale effectively and drive innovation across our markets," Serko CEO and co-founder Darrin Grafton said in a statement.

Gerrie also will be taking the chief product officer responsibilities as Das leaves Serko in April. Das, who has been Serko's chief product officer since October 2023, "has decided to take a period of sabbatical and to pursue advisory opportunities," according to Grafton.
