Key Takeaways
Apple just announced a new keynote, where the company is expected to announce the latest iPhones. Leaks and rumors suggest Apple will reveal the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which should offer small upgrades over the iPhone 17 Pro. The star of the show will be the iPhone Ultra, Apple's first foldable iPhone (and likely the company's most expensive iPhone to date). The keynote starts at 10 a.m. PT on Wednesday, Sept. 9.Table of Contents
You don't need to follow leaks and rumors to know that Apple will announce the iPhone 18 next month. The company has revealed new iPhones once a year every year since its first smartphone launch back in 2007. The real unknown, of course, is what day exactly Apple will make these announcements. As of Wednesday, we know for sure.

Apple just announced its next big iPhone event
Apple has set an official time and date for its iPhone 18 announcement. The company is scheduled to kick off its keynote on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. PT. While Apple is inviting some media members to attend in person, anyone can watch the presentation live online. Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, confirmed the keynote in a post on X:

We don't know for sure what Apple will reveal on Sept. 9, but leaks and rumors give us some good guesses. The math tells us that Apple will go from the iPhone 17 to the iPhone 18 this year, while the leaks suggest that we'll see the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable "iPhone Ultra."(Apple may delay the standard iPhone 18 to 2027, per rumors.)
What do you think so far?
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will likely be standard upgrades from the iPhone 17 Pro series: Expect better cameras, bigger batteries, new colors (including the new "light blue" and "dark cherry"), the new A20 chip, and higher price tags. The star of the show will be Apple's first foldable iPhone, which will come with many of the same internals as the iPhone 18 Pros, but may ship with Touch ID instead of Face ID, and, of course, with two display types: a smaller outer display, which opens up to reveal a larger inner display. This might be Apple's most expensive iPhone yet, fetching over $2,000, but we'll have to wait and see once Apple officially announces its price tag.
