EasyJet expands at Manchester and Belfast International
Carrier starts new services to Murcia and Rhodes in 2023
EasyJet will expand operations at Manchester and Belfast International airports next summer, launching new services to Murcia in Spain and the Greek island of Rhodes respectively.
The budget carrier will add a 21st aircraft to its Manchester base and start Murcia flights on May 2, 2023.
Adding an eighth aircraft to its Belfast base will enable the airline to begin services from Northern Ireland to Rhodes on June 3, 2023.
Both new services will operate with an A320neo on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and seats go on sale from December 7.
Uel Hoey, Belfast International airport’s business development director, added: “We are delighted to acknowledge easyJet’s ongoing robust commitment towards air connectivity to and from Northern Ireland with their investment of significantly higher capacity in 2023 – and particularly welcome the addition onto their Belfast network of the beautiful Greek island of Rhodes for the benefit of those forward planning their next summer break.”
Chris Woodroofe, Manchester airport managing director, said: “We are pleased to see easyJet expanding its base here, having significantly increased the number of destinations it flies to from Manchester over the past year.
“It is also exciting to see the introduction of a Murcia service, which I am sure will be hugely popular with passengers this summer.”
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said the addition of the new aircraft will help the carrier to deliver growth at both airports and offer customers an even wider range of destinations.
