Hyatt to Launch 'Select' Transient Brand
Hyatt Hotels Corp. plans to launch a new limited-service upper-midscale brand called Hyatt Select, the company announced Tuesday.

Hyatt Hotels Corp. plans to launch a new limited-service upper-midscale brand called Hyatt Select, the company announced Tuesday.
Hyatt did not specify any opening locations or development timelines but in a statement said it would focus on initial opportunities in the Americas "before scaling globally." Hyatt chief growth officer Jim Chu in a statement said the move would "expand our brand presence for guests looking for a short stay option in secondary and tertiary markets."
Hyatt Select properties will "balance efficiency with comfort," according to Hyatt, and feature 70 to 200 guest rooms, complimentary breakfast and a 24/7 self-serve grab-and-go market, free high-speed internet and in-room workspaces. The brand could feature conversions and new builds, according to the company.
Hyatt Select will slot into Hyatt's Essentials collection of limited-service brands, one of five groups of brands into which the company recently reorganized its portfolio.
Among the brands in the Essentials collection is Hyatt Studios, the upper-midscale extended-stay brand announced in 2023 that last week opened its first property in Tillmans Corner, Ala., near Mobile. Hyatt said it had 50 Studios projects in the development pipeline, including 22 in new markets for the hotel company.
