United Airlines will offer new and expanded service to Latin America and the Caribbean this winter, the carrier announced Thursday.

United Airlines will offer new and expanded service to Latin America and the Caribbean this winter, the carrier announced Thursday. 

One of two new routes is between Denver and Mexico City, set to launch Oct. 26. The second, debuting the same date, is between Denver and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. A new destination for United will be Tepic in the Riviera Nayarit, Mexico, area, serviced once weekly from Houston.

Select expanded frequencies include service between Newark Liberty International Airport and Guatemala City through February increased to daily from three to four times per week; five-times weekly flights through February between Newark and San Salvador, El Salvador, up from one to three times weekly; service between San Francisco and each Panama City, Panama, and San Jose, Costa Rica, to continue operating daily through the winter season; and twice daily service between Chicago and San Juan, Puerto Rico, up from once daily.
