X has launched a new Grok Bot Template Rewards program, which will provide cash rewards to users who suggest valuable use cases for its artificial intelligence-powered Grok bot that showcase how others can use its latest AI tool in their everyday processes.

xAI launched its new Grok Bots last month, which are AI agents that can undertake tasks on behalf of their users.

As explained by xAI: “Grok Bots have their own computer. They sign into the tools you already use and work across apps, inboxes, and more. They finish jobs end to end, and only come back when something needs your approval.”

This is the new trend in AI development, enabling users to deploy AI-powered bots that can be tasked with online roles, which will ideally save people time by outsourcing their more menial tasks to these automated systems.

The challenge for Grok Bot, as it is with all agentic tools, is that most users don’t know what to do with them. So while these tools are capable of certain tasks, users need to be given examples of valuable use cases, in order to tap into their utility.

Which is where this project comes in.

As explained by X: “Grok Bot Template Rewards is an invite-only pilot from X that rewards creators whose Grok Bot templates people find useful. Share your templates on X, and when people use them, you may earn rewards paid through X Money.”

So it will be limited to selected Grok Bot users, and will be focused on showcasing unique, valuable use cases, in order to drive more interest in the option.

X explained that within each payment cycle, X will decide whether to pay a reward and how much.

“We look at a wide range of things, like how many people use your templates and how consistently they keep using them over time.”

X said that its criteria will also evolve, but the focus, again, is on showcasing valuable ways to deploy its Grok Bots.

X also noted that creators’ own use of their templates will not be counted in this process, though it may consider paying additional amounts to creators who show promise, in order to help them get going in the initial stage of the program.

Meta recently launched a similar showcase of uses of its Muse AI agent, in order to help users understand what exactly AI agents can do.

However, the main challenge may lie in users enabling these agents to access their personal data, and then trust that the bots can be empowered to undertake actions on their behalf.

The key to AI agents winning over audiences could lie in utility, because as we’ve seen with social media more broadly, users will generally overlook data usage and privacy concerns in favor of perceived value and convenience.
